Stainless steel soap, with a sample piece of Layout Paper.

Multi purpose tool, for smoothing clay and as a bead former.

SMOOTHING: Use on raw clay to get a smooth finishing before curing.  Greatly reducing the sanding of finished piece.  

Lay a sheet of layout paper over the clay, then rub with the steel soap, until smooth. (As recommended by Melanie Muir for use with Mokume Gane).

BEAD FORMER; Cure clay over soap for a dommed bead, using our oval cutter C77, custom made to match this stainless steel soap.  Or use any shape that sits well on this 'soap'.

2nd image shows two pendant beads, combining this soap with our customised cutter, textured with lace and finished with Pan Pastels.
